GREEN - HELP URGENTLY REQUIRED
There will be a rota going up on the Notice Board with dates that help is urgently needed to help with the general maintenance of the green while Reg Rapley is away on holiday during September.  Please email Reg

Chairman/Fixture Secretary NEEDED
We need a Chairman AND Fixture Secretary for the 2011 Season as Cliff Brimley and Colin Price will be standing down at the end of this Season. Very many thanks to them both for their hard work over the last few years, especially to Colin arranging our Fixture matches!   
There will be a list for anyone who wishes to be nominated for these vacancies on the Notice Board.  This list will be taken down on the 1st November before the AGM takes place.

Clubhouse telephone
If using the clubhouse telephone, please ensure you pay your money into the tin provided to cover the costs of these calls. Club competition matches should not be arranged using the clubhouse telephone, nor should it be used for personal calls.

Instructions for Markers
If anyone is interested in learning how to be a marker, there will be a notice on the board for you to put your name down for this.  Reg Rapley will be the Instructor.

Dress Code
i)MEMBERS ARE REMINDED THAT PROPER DRESS CODE IS WORN FOR ALL CLUB AND COMPETITION MATCHES  i.e. WHITE OR CLUB SHIRT, GREY/WHITE TROUSERS/SHORTS AND GREY/WHITE SKIRTS FOR THE LADIES.
It is ok for WBC members to wear shorts at a home match but they are still not acceptable to some other clubs, so players need to take trousers/skirt with them, and ask the host captain


ii)MARKERS ARE ALSO ASKED THAT THEY WEAR THE APPROPRIATE
BOWLS CLOTHING, I.E. GREY TROUSERS/SHORTS/SKIRTS FOR THE LADIES AND WHITE OR CLUB SHIRT.

iii)     CORRECT BOWLS SHOES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES
  
Markers
                MARKERS  MUST BE EXPERIENCED BOWLERS.
  
THESE RULES MUST BE ADHERED TO, AS PER THE CLUB HANDBOOK.        INAPPROPRIATE DRESS/SHOES ARE TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
 
Front of Clubhouse
Please would members leave their bowls bags either in the changing rooms, or, if left outside, in front of the clubhouse, your bags are left under the seating area, tucked right away from the walkway in front of the bowls green.  This walkway must be left clear for the safety of all players/visitors.

Roy Rie - Thursday evenings
Can you please arrive by 5.50 p.m for the Roy/Rie and sign in as soon as possible, so the games can get started on time.   The dress code for this evening is smart/casual (NO JEANS) for Roy/Rie on Thursday evenings

Bowls/Bowls bags - Changing Rooms
Any members who have bowls or bowls bags in the changing rooms, can you please ensure that your name is on them or your bag, as there is going to be a bit of a clear out of any old unused items.

Proposed new start time
It is proposed that we start our home matches next season at 2 p.m

**DATES FOR Y0UR DIARY**

Captains Evening - Thursday 19th August
We are having a Captains Evening which will start at 8-8.30 p.m. (after the Roy/Rie competition has finished.  ALL ARE WELCOME.

Finals Day - Sunday 29th August
Good luck to all those that are in the finals, and for those who are not,  please come along and support the finalists.  Start time to be advised.

Lumley Reception - Sunday 12th September
If you wish to attend the Lumley Reception, please could you put your name on the list on the Notice Board as soon as possible.


Saturday 2nd October/Monday 4th October - dates for your diary
These are a couple of early dates for your diary for anyone who can come along and help with putting the green to ‘bed’ for the Winter, and to generally help with anything that needs doing etc. It would be very much appreciated if you could spare an hour or two of your time on either of these two days.

Annual Christmas Dinner - Friday 17th December 2010
Venue - Royal Ascot Golf Club 7 - 7.30 p.m.  Further details to follow.

Open Singles Competition 2011
